Energy Rater, with EnergyLogic since December 2015
My love for the outdoors began to blossom at a young age in the dense woods of Michigan and along the expansive beaches of Lake Michigan. It is undoubtedly this appreciation for the outdoors and my ever evolving passion for adventure that would bring me to chase the allure of the Rockies. At the age of 18, I packed my car with some climbing gear, some snowboard gear and $700 and left my small home town in Northern Michigan only to find myself sometime later in Durango, Colorado.
Soon after, I began my education in construction. I apprenticed under a master carpenter for many years building custom straw-bale homes. I also attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado from 2006 – 2010 and graduated with a Business Management degree. Throughout these impressionable college years my attraction for adventure continued to grow and mature in the deserts and high alpine landscapes of the southwest.
Shortly after graduation I liquidated most of my possessions and began a year and a half long journey around the world with my partner. When I returned to Durango in January of 2013, I started a construction business doing siding, decks, and window and door installations; and also completed multiple remodels. It was at this time that I decided I wanted to pursue an education in efficient building practices in order to better tie together my education and my deep feeling of responsibility to help preserve the natural world. I graduated from EnergyLogic Academy in 2014 and shortly after that, moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. I am excited to be working with a team of like-minded, passionate people at EnergyLogic.
