Rating Field Inspector, with EnergyLogic since November 2017
I was born and (mostly) raised in the Detroit, Michigan area with a couple of stops along the way in Wilmington, NC and Vancouver, WA. I started working for a friend’s residential framing company in 1994 and quickly worked my way up from laborer to lead carpenter. I continued to work as a rough carpenter in the SE Michigan area until 2002 when I took a “leap for love” and moved to Colorado to be with my girlfriend who is now my wife. It was the best gamble of my life.
Shortly after arriving, I joined up with a local general contractor and continued to build houses in the Denver area. Over the next several years, life got really busy because I went back to school, got married, had kids, and graduated from Metro State with a business management degree.
During the housing slow-down in 2008, I became a stay-at-home dad and loved every minute of it. By the time I rejoined the workforce in 2013 I had become really interested in energy efficiency and green building. I earned my Building Analyst certification and started doing residential energy assessments. I find it to be really satisfying to teach people about their homes.
I have an amazing wife, Claire and three awesome kids, Liam, Chloe and Bridget. Life is busy and there is never a dull moment, but when I do have free time, I enjoy woodworking, cooking, and annoying my kids with my less than stellar guitar playing. I’m an avid hockey, football, and baseball fan and I follow my Michigan teams closely. Michigan will always be home, but Colorado is where I want to raise my family.
